Baseball and softball players, coaches and fans are invited to attend or participate in the Fifth Annual Nancy Hayes Memorial Baseball Tournament Thursday, May 3 through Sunday, May 6 at the Powell-Levi Fields in Powell.  Tournament play will also take place at Caswell Park, Fountain City Park and the Knox County Sportspark.  Proceeds from the event benefit East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

To honor the memory of their daughter, who was a patient at Children's Hospital, the Hayes family of Knoxville decided to create a special benefit tournament for t-ball, coach-pitched and little league teams. Last year, teams from throughout Knoxville, as well as from as far away as Nashville, participated in the tournament. 

Proceeds from the concessions stands, parking and entry fees have helped this event raise more than $80,000 in the past four years to benefit Children's Hospital.  Proceeds from this year's event will be used to purchase weigh scales for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a defibrillator for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
