A five car accident at the Knox / Sevier County line caused a traffic snarl in both directions last Thursday afternoon that lasted some time.

A SUV type vehicle heading towards Knoxville on Chapman Highway had either slowed downed or stopped for another vehicle in front of it that was turning left, across traffic, onto Maples Road, a witness told The Seymour Herald.

"The green car bowed up and stopped right in front of me," one of the drivers that wished to remain anonymous, told The Seymour Herald.  "I don't know if someone in front of her turned or what, but it stopped rather quickly so I had to put on the brakes much harder than I thought, but I stopped before hitting her."

"I saw that the red car was coming to a sharp stop so I said whoa and as soon as I felt them nail me from behind, I knew it wasn't over with so I put my hands on the steer wheel and got ready and boom, I got it," stated one of he participants of the accident.
