The Gatlinburg Rotary Club has announced the Bicentennial Gala scheduled for Thursday, May 10th at W.L. Mills Auditorium. The evening will include great food, refreshments, entertainment and an awesome auction (live and silent).

Two hundred tickets were distributed to Rotary Club members to sell to the many supporters and participants for this event. The celebration will take place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The donation of $75 per ticket will help fund the dozens of community projects that the Gatlinburg Rotary Club supports.

According to Glenn Bogart, club president, "This year's event is a special celebration for Gatlinburg's Bicentennial. In addition to our outstanding items to be auctioned, we have a big surprise for our guests this year.

"Some very unique and valuable Bicentennial Bears have been donated for our auction with help from several outstanding artists, the Gatlinburg Bicentennial Committee and Teague Concrete Works. You will not want to miss this year's event, and most importantly, all proceeds fund our community projects."

Local artists are decorating their 75-pound Bicentennial Bears, which will be auctioned off to the highest bidder then displayed in public places all over town as part of the City's celebration.
