The competitive business of the Cingular Wireless cell phones seems to have a lead store in Seymour.
Sean Woods, store manager of Cingular Wireless in the Food City Shopping center is excited about what's happening at his store.
The store, in its second year of operation has garnered the support of the Seymour community as evidenced by the numbers.
According to Woods, there are six Cingular franchised stores owned by Jack Hewlett. They are located in Seymour, Foothills Mall, Knoxville Center Mall, West Town Mall, Kingston Pike, and North Shore Drive
Woods says there are 30 plus Cingular stores in the state. The Seymour location is number sixth in sales in the state.
"Knowing that we were the sixth in the state blew me away," stated Woods.
"We even beat out the two corporate stores in Knoxville and Sevierville."
"Seymour is really booming," Woods said.
The business is doing so well, that they have even considered putting on an extra person to handle the work.
When the word gets out that we treat people right, they'll always come back
"To think of all the people that come and go into the Knoxville Mall and I do more business in my store then they do," Woods said.
The LG phones seem to be the most popular phones and they have more reliability and connectivity.
Cingular Wireless is spending $18,000 per day to improve the system.
The cellular phone company has gone thru some name changes in the recent past. They use to be AT&T then Suncom, and now Cingular and soon AT&T again, according to Woods.
The store can be contacted at 577-5707 and is located at 11503 Chapman Highway, Seymour.
