What’s that really mean? What are the people of the United States of American or Knox County really saying when they vote in Term Limits? And why isn’t term limits passed in Sevier County?
After all, if it’s good enough for the President of the United States of America, it should be good enough for all of us.
Are the people saying that the vote really doesn’t work, or that average people don’t know how to vote?
So to make certain that we are constantly infusing fresh blood, so to speak, term limits are enforced in those places where the people so choose.
Back to Sevier County.
It seems the people of Sevier County are very happy with the way things are going. We have had some of the same individuals in the same office for many years.
“We have continuity, no need for a transition period, no time is lost and it’s been working all these years, why change it now,” commented an individual that wishes to remain unnamed.
Then there are those that see the a little different.
“We need to get new people in there because the ones in there now are stuck in their old ways and things are different now, we have bigger concerns than just creating a job for their friends and relatives,” stated a person who demanded to remain anonymous.
It’s difficult to know if term limits are a good thing or not.
Those that are out of office in Knox County would definitely have an opinion. But then again, they are the public servants and have sworn an oath that effect.
To say with certainty that one particular method works sufficiently in every case, ever time, is ridiculous.
Evidentially people are happy with the way it’s going in Sevier County or the elected officials would not keep getting elected. Bottom line is simple. When it’s time to chance, it will happen.
