The 2006 Middle Tennessee State University Majorettes had a flavor of Sevier County this football season with senior Courtney Hyder from Pigeon Forge High School, freshman Priscilla Parton from Sevier County High School, and Freshman Brittany Galyon from Seymour High School. The season for these three majorettes started in early August ’06 with just the majorette line practices, and then additional practice time with the full “Band of Blue”. Throughout the season they performed at MTSU football games, at special half time performances for the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys NFL ballgame and also at two band competitions (“Contest of Champions” and “Band of America”). Just recently, on December 26, 2006, they performed at the Motor City Bowl pre-game and half time show in Detroit, Michigan (where MTSU played Central Michigan). These hard working young ladies have dedicated many hours of practice outside of their classes and deserve a “Big Congratulations” from our county. THREE CHEERS for the THREE MTSU Majorettes from Sevier County!!
