Seymour junior post Zach Pace had the game of his life Tuesday night in the Eagles 74-61 pasting of Rutledge at Seymour High School.
The Eagles controlled the final two quarters, outscoring the Pioneers 42-28 after trailing Rutledge 33-32 at the half.
Pace scored a career-high 35 points in the game and senior Derrick Lee contributed 20 against the Pioneers. Pace stepped out to the perimeter to show his range by swishing a pair of treys. Smith also had two 3-pointers, as did John Holland, who finished with a seven-point outing.
Duncan Smith chipped in six points, Carlton Logue had four points and Jeffrey Harmon contributed two points to help the Eagles improve to 9-4 on the year.
Both the Eagles and the Lady Eagles will next play in the Catholic High School Christmas Tournament beginning two days after Christmas.
