Just like the communities we serve, the Herald Newspapers are on the move and growing. We have some big plans for new features and ways to get you involved.
What’s on Your Mind – Reader’s Anonymous Forum
First out starting next Wednesday and continuing on every Wednesday, we are going to offer you a forum where you can voice your opinions, ideas or complaints anonymously. That’s right, you won’t have to identify who you are nor where you live. This is letters to the editor on steroids!
There are some simple rules, however. Number one is no personal attacks. You can not mention a private person’s name or address. Public figures are another story and are exempt from this rule. You can email us at vent@theheraldnewspapers.com, snail mail us at PO Box 1228, Seymour Tennessee 37865 or call in at 865-577-6609 extension 229 and vent.
So go ahead make your day! Tell us what’s on your mind.

Predator Profile
We at the Herald Newspapers believe every child in Tennessee should be safe to grow, develop and enjoy life without the threat of the certain individuals out there who prey on children. That is why we strongly endorse the drive to have child protection act referred to as Jessica’s Law passed here in our state. So far, for whatever reasons the governor and the legislature don’t seem to care about this. The elections are coming up and now is the perfect time for them to explain why they aren’t concerned with the welfare of Tennessee’s children. We will help you address this very important issue.
Every Monday beginning September 25, we will feature one or more registered child predators. We will display their picture, address, type of offense, sentence and any other information you need to protect your children from them.
We also plan to offer case studies and debate, articles and opinions that have a direct bearing on child protection with focus on getting Jessic’a law or an even stronger law enacted here in Tennessee.
The text of Jessica’s Law can be found on our web site, heraldnewspapers.com
