Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center is offering a StrokeScore & More during the month of September (and first week of October).
Tennessee has one of the nation’s highest death rates from stroke, and it is the leading cause of severe long-term disability. September is Stroke Awareness Month, and to help you know your risks, Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center is offering a special StrokeScore & More screening package.
Your private StrokeScore & More session will last approximately one hour and include the following screenings:
-Carotid Doppler Ultrasound – a quick and easy screening test that takes a picture of the carotid arteries in your neck to show blood flow to the brain and detect narrowing of the carotid artery by arteriosclerosis (cholesterol deposition), a potential stroke indicator
-Stroke Self-Assessment
-Blood Pressure
-Ankle Brachial Index screening for Peripheral Vascular Disease
-Lipid Profile including total cholesterol, the good (HDL) and bad cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and glucose
Cost for StrokeScore & More is $150 (and is not covered by insurance). Call 865.429.6545 today for more information, or to schedule your appointment.
