“The field in Dandridge and somebody’s been shot. There’s gunshots everywhere, Field of Dreams, Field of Dreams, hurry!” That is what was released on the 911 tapes from the caller the day of the deadly Dandridge shootings. Another called stated, “There’s a shooting up here at Dandridge ball field, at the Field of Dreams. There’s been three or four people killed.”
The gun was finally taken from Samuel Noe after investigators say he had shot at least two people. According to the police report, Jerry Shands died at the scene. His wife Sue was pronounced dead at the hospital. Brent Shands was shot, but survived and was taken to the hospital. Officials say Noe was shot and killed during the scuffle to get the gun away.
Purses, cash
stolen during game
Investigators in Loudon County had more patrol at Friday night’s big football game after someone broke into several cars last week when thieves took off with credit cards, cash and purses. The game had such a big crowd the week before than many people parked in a near by church parking lot. That is where many of the cars were burglarized.
Police offer this advice: Do not leave items of value in your automobile.
