Fans get chance to win up to 15 gallons of free gas during Sunoco promotion
The roaring sound echoing through Thunder Valley this weekend will be coming from five-horsepower junior dragsters as Bristol Dragway hosts the Mikebosracing.com Junior Dragster Fall Nationals Sept. 1-3.
In its fifth year of existence, the Junior Dragster Fall Nationals continue to gain popularity as hundreds of young drag racers from all over the Southeast will converge on Thunder Valley.. Junior dragster racers ages eight to 17 have the opportunity to compete in 12 classes for the chance to earn savings bonds.
A new aspect of the event this year is the addition of the Bos Chassis and Craw’s Racing Challenge.. The “all-run” bracket race offers competitors a chance to stake claim to a share of the $6,000 purse. Entry for the one-class bracket race is $50.
Entry fees are as follows: Index Race & Bracket Race $60; Index Race only $35 (Saturday entry only); Bracket Race only $35 (Sunday entry only); Friday Night Fun Race $25; 330’ Heads Up $35; Quick 32 $35; Free Entry; Test & Tune (Friday) $10.
Admission for spectators is as follows: Adults $25 Weekend Pass; Single Day Adult $15 (Saturday, Sunday); Friday only $10; Kids 10 & Under Admitted Free; Junior (ages 11-16) $5 each day; Junior (ages 11-16) $10 Weekend Pass.
Gates open on Friday at 9 a.m. with Test & Tune from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a Fun Race scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Gates open Saturday at 8 a.m. with time trials at 9 a.m. followed by qualifying at 1 p.m. Gates open Sunday at 9 a.m. with eliminations beginning at 1 p.m.
Drivers feeling the crunch at the fuel pumps can get a bit of relief at Bristol Dragway as Ride Revolution Nights gets into the spirit of giving with its Sunoco Gas Giveaway Promotion.
During each Ride Revolution Night in September, Sept. 7, Sept. 14, Sept. 21, and Sept. 28, spectators and drivers will have the opportunity to win a free fill-up, up to 15 gallons, of Sunoco fuel.
Drivers recording the quickest reaction time, lowest elapsed time, slowest elapsed time less than 20 seconds and the closest elapsed time under 13 seconds will win the free gas. One randomly drawn spectator each night will also receive a fill-up.
