Graham is all-time leader with nine straight games of over 100 yards
Tennessee sophomore tailback Arian Foster put together what appeared to be an impressive streak last season when he ended 2005 with five consecutive 100-yard rushing games. In fact, he’s in pretty rare company. The San Diego native is just the fourth back in Tennessee football history to fashion such a running streak, joining Jay Graham (nine straight), Johnny Jones (six) and Chuck Webb (five).
Names the likes of Travis Henry, Jamal Lewis, Reggie Cobb, Charlie Garner, James Stewart and Cedric Houston reached the 100-yard mark at least 10 times in their careers, but never over a consecutive stretch of five games or more. After claiming the starting role last October, Foster gained 148 yards against South Carolina, 125 at Notre Dame, 132 against Memphis, 223 versus Vanderbilt and 114 at Kentucky. He is tied with Webb at five straight games reaching the century mark and could equal Jones with a solid effort Saturday against California.
