Creek fishing is the best avenue again

Fishing around creeks is the best way to go again this week on Fort Loudon.
The water temperature early in the morning is 78 degrees and is warming up to a fairly warm 81 degrees by late afternoon.
Anglers are catching numerous fish around Turkey Creek and Sinking Creek. However, most fish being brought out of the creeks are not keepers. Some fishermen have been fishing Ish Creek and have caught a few largemouth bass hanging around small bait fish.
Bass are hitting Super Hogs during the daylight hours, but Brush hogs seem to be the bait of choice after sunset. Some larger fish in the two to three pound range are also being caught on black and blue blades after dark.
Fishing around main bluffs also seems to be producing a few fish this week. The fish are suspended at a depth of eight to 12 feet and are hitting jigs.
The fishing should stay consistent throughout the week with the best fishing being in the late afternoon and early evening hours.
Trinity Trail had a good turn out for the tournament that was held on Saturday night on Fort Loudon.
It only took eight pounds of fish to win the tournament and several fishermen reported slow activity.
The next Trinity Trail tournament will be held July 8th on Douglas Lake. Anyone who would like to participate in this tournament is encouraged to come out and try their luck.
