Former Eagle will join Gulf Coast League Indians this week
Former Carson-Newman pitcher John Wallace has signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Indians.
Wallace will join the team this week as he reports to the Gulf Coast League Indians in Winter Haven, Fla.
Wallace posted a 7-2 record and a 4.68 earned run average in 2006. He appeared in 13 games and had 43 strikeouts in 59.2 innings on the mound. He won 19 games during his career, struck out 185 batters and helped lead the Eagles to 128 wins and two SAC titles.
The Carson-Newman Eagles were 35-20 in 2006.
