As another year passes by, the team at New Market Fire & Rescue is preparing for another weekend of SummerFest in the New Market Park.
The June 30th (Friday) event will feature live Gospel music from area performers from 5:00pm to midnight. On July 1st, Saturday, events begin at 10:00am and continue through midnight with live bluegrass and country music performances from around East Tennessee. Saturday evening will conclude with a street dance for the last three hours of the night. Best of all, admission is FREE!
Both days will feature children’s attractions, as well as arts & crafts exhibits. On Saturday, there will be an open car show for area enthusiasts to enter their hotrods. A brief intermission in the music on Saturday afternoon provides opportunity for attendees to bid on items that have been donated by businesses in Jefferson and surrounding counties, including Sevier County, to raise money to supports the department’s operations for the upcoming year.
The menu for both days includes BBQ, hamburgers, chicken and hotdogs served with beans, slaw and a drink. Carryouts are available for pickup on Friday by calling the fire station at (865) 475-1417 to place an order. Meals are available for a $6.00 donation each to New Market Fire & Rescue.
