East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is offering the following resources for parents as part of its continuing community education program. Children’s Hospital’s Healthy Kids program offers classes for parents and caregivers, while its Web site offers the latest in pediatric health information as well as activities for children of all ages. Infant/Child CPR
Monday, June 12, 6:30-9 p.m.
Location: Children’s Hospital Koppel Plaza
Cost: $18
This class will teach caregivers cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and choking maneuvers for children ages eight and younger. The class also teaches home safety. Class sizes are limited, so pre-registration is required by calling (865) 541-8262.
Making Healthy Choices
Wednesday, June 14, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Children’s Hospital Koppel Plaza
Cost: FREE
With one’s food habits often being family-centered, it is important to recognize certain habits as unhealthy and take steps to correct them. A registered dietitian will discuss with your family how to make appropriate healthy food choices, provide substitutes for foods that promote weight management and suggest methods for increasing activity into your daily routine.
