The Tennessee Smokies waited out a 40-minute rain-delay before plating five runs in the sixth inning on their way to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Carolina Mudcats in the final game of the team’s latest home-stand. The Smokies, winners of five of their last six contests and three in a row, climbed to fourth place in the North Division of the Southern League Standings, four games behind division-leading Chattanooga. Tennessee will begin a series at Huntsville tonight.
