The Sevier County Right to Life organization will be sponsoring an oratory contest for  students of all Sevier County high schools on the subjects of abortion, euthanasia, and stem cell research.  The contest will be held on Friday April 21, 2006 at 6:00 PM in the Sevier County Court House.  The speech may be either pro or con and be from five to seven minutes in length.  Applications and regulations may be obtained by contacting rpinion@netscape.com or jehu4@aol.com.   Also, requests may be mailed to

Cash prizes will be $100 1st place, $50 2nd place, and $25 3rd place.  In addition the 1st place winner will be eligible to attend the state contest in Nashville,  TN. on May 6, 2006.
The judges for the contest will be State Senator Raymond Finney, SCRTL President John Doig, and Janice Hendrix of the Women’s Care Center of Sevierville, TN..
