Dear Editor,

We’ve been visiting the Sevier County area for the last several years and this past July spent a week looking for the best community in the county to build a vacation (later for retirement) home.  After looking at all the local communities, we decided that Seymour offered the most pleasing atmosphere and greatest potential for growth.  We love the people and everything we see in the future for the Seymour area, certainly compliments the life style we’ve been looking for.  We found a wonderful location off North Pitner Road and plan to start the building process within the coming weeks.
While we were visiting over the Christmas Holiday, we were able to stop by your office and subscribed to the Seymour Herald.  We absolutely love getting it every week to see the exciting things happening in Seymour!  With each visit we make to the area, we see that the community is growing and maturing with leaps & bounds.  We can’t wait to be there on a permanent basis to be a part of the future of Seymour!
Glad to see that you are running for County Commissioner. Wish we could be there to help out with any of the campaign events.  If we were voting residents, you would have our vote!
We’ve been on the road the last couple weeks on business and have been looking forward to getting back home here in Bowling Green.  Was going through the mail and disappointingly have not located the Seymour Herald for the last couple weeks. The last issue we have is the February 7th publication.  I’ve gone on-line to catch up on some of the news, however it’s just not the same as sitting down in our favorite chair and reading the Herald.  I’m hoping that our name has not dropped off the mailing list . . . possibly our mailman has discovered just how neat of a newspaper it is (I hope it’s not sitting in his living room . . . just kidding)!
Would like to get back on track and would like the past copies if possible.  I went on-line and noticed an excellent article about the Eagle wrestlers going to the State Tournament.  I want to send it to my son, who was an outstanding wrestler in his high school years back in Indiana.  Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to talk him into relocating to Seymour in the coming years also!
We appreciate your friendliness and your willingness to help Seymour grow into one of the premier communities in the Eastern Tennessee area!
Looking forward to meeting you in person in the coming months.

Dear Terry & Lisa,

Thanks for your kind words. We are very honored to get letters and emails and phone calls such as yours on a regular basis.
We love living in Seymour. I’m running for the county commission seat to help Seymour progress in a way that the community wants it to rather than just letting it happen.
I’ve checked into your subscription and the concern must be with the post office. They might not have distributed them from the backlog of the recent holiday.
In either case, please let me know if you still haven’t received them and I’ll gladly re-send them again.
Sincerely,
Joe Karl
