It’s a second win for membership powerhouse Martha Garrett

In a repeat win, Martha Garrett of Healthy Water & Air claimed the January 2006 Chamber Friendship Award. The award was presented during this month’s Coffee Talk event.
This was the second win for Garrett who faithfully attends Chamber networking events and ribbon cuttings. She also actively promotes membership in the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce whenever and wherever she can.
As a thank you for her hard work, Garrett received a plaque courtesy of Sign Master, and a gift certificate for a transmission oil change and tune up valued at $130 from Chip’s Transmission.
“Martha was our first ever monthly Friendship Award winner,” says Membership Coordinator Jim McGill. With the beginning of the new calendar year, all previous winners once again became eligible to win. It was no surprise to McGill that Martha claimed another Chamber Friendship Award because she constantly promotes membership. “At Coffee Talk this morning a lady who had been invited by Martha joined the Chamber,” says McGill. “When Martha promotes the Chamber she doesn’t think of obtaining friendship award points. Instead she promotes the Chamber because she knows it is a benefit to any business.”
Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Friendship Awards are based on points accumulated monthly from attending Chamber functions and volunteering as well as bringing inactive members and potential new members to Chamber events. Monthly points will go towards determining the Chamber Friend of the Year Award recipient, who will be honored at the annual Membership Breakfast on February 28, 2006.
Next month’s Chamber Friendship Award will be presented during Coffee Talk on March 16, 2006. Coffee Talk begins at 8:30am at the Sevierville Civic Center. Guests are welcome to attend and learn more about the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce. For more information, contact Jim McGill at (865) 453-6411.
