Woodrow “Woody” Michael “Popie” Ward age 56 of Maryville passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his Parents; Henry and Arizona Pearl (Chambers) Ward, Sister; Phyllis June (Ward) Gribble, and Mother-in-law; Bell Reynolds. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mary (Reynolds) Ward, Sons; Michael Ward, Ricky Ward, Jeff Ward, and Ricky Garrett, Daughter; Kim (Garrett) Phelps, seven grandsons, six granddaughters, Sisters and brothers-in-law; Minnie Jean (Ward) Hurst, Maxine Ward, Patty (Ward) and Joe Dockery, Brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles and Ruth Ward, Alfred and Shirley Ward, Johnny and Mary Ward, Roy and Nancy Ward, Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law; Sarah and Mike Ellis, Frank and Mary Lou Reynolds, and Charles and Kevin Reynolds, Special Uncles; Perry and Lee Thompson, friend Raymond Hurst and Sitty Phillips, special wifey “Big Blue”, special niece and caregiver; Gena Hurst Rogers, many friends and relatives. Funeral service will be 8:00 P.M. Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Armstrong, Rev. Bo Thomas, and Rev. Charlie Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home to proceed to Grandview Cemetery for an 11:00 A.M. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Charles A. (Chuck) Holmes, 53, of South Knoxville, passed away Saturday Feb. 25, 2005 after a battle with cancer. He worked for Cole Vision for 14 Years, and was a Navy Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruth Elsdon Holmes.
Survivors: Wife: Michelle Reed Holmes; Children: Jeremy and wife Tiffany, Jennifer and husband Chris, Sarah and fiancée Nathan, and Rob. Grandchildren: Alexus, Jaylee, McKenzie, and Hayden; Brother: Bob; Sisters: Sandy, and Diane.
Family and friends will meet 1 PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Seymour Memory Gardens for graveside services and interment. Rev. Robert Cox officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN (577-2807).
