PF planners to meet
The Pigeon Forge Planning Commission will be gathering for their regular bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday.
They will be reviewing several site plans including expansions to the Miracle Theater and expansions to the Music Road Hotel and Convention Center. They will also consider a rezoning request for a vacant lot on the corner of Middle Creek Road and Maple Lane, from R-1 (low density residential) to C-2 (tourist commercial district).
The planning commission meets in the Pigeon Forge City Hall Council Chamber, at 225 Pine Mountain Road. Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m.

BMA meeting postponed
The Monday, March 6 meeting of the City of Sevierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) has been changed to Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
Meetings are held at the Sevierville Civic Center on Gary Wade Blvd.

ESPN writer to speak in Knoxville
Senior writer for “ESPN The Magazine,” and a frequent contributor to “SportsCenter” and “College GameDay,” Gene Wojciechowski will be on the University of Tennessee campus today
Wojciechowski will lead an informal discussion session at 6 p.m. in Room 309, Communications Building. Wojciechowski has worked at the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Fort Lauderdale News/Sun-Sentinel, the Denver Post and the Dallas Morning News. He’s written for The Sporting News, the Los Angeles Times Magazine and Sports Illustrated. He’s authored four books, received four Associated Press Sports Editors National Writing Awards and has been honored by the Pro Football Writers of America, the U.S. Basketball Writers of America and the Los Angeles Press Club.

Martial arts record
holder to visit WSCC
Dan Netherland, a member of the Martial Arts Hall of Fame, will be on campus Tuesday to speak about the martial arts and spiritual growth. Netherland is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records for several martial arts feats. He holds the record for the most red house bricks (15) with a single hit and the record for breaking the most red house bricks (76) in a minute. Netherland also holds the record for breaking the most concrete blocks in a minute. For this record, he broke 55 blocks totaling 3,014 pounds of concrete in only 17.45 seconds.Netherland’s presentation begins at 11:10 a.m. in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex on the Morristown campus. It is free and open to everyone.
