UT Professional & Personal Development will offer a 1-day course on the causes and health effects of indoor air pollution. The course will also cover techniques for testing and remediation. The class will meet Thursday, March 16, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Plant Biotechnology Building on the UT campus.
Air quality experts, Martha Keel, Ph.D., and Doug Jerger, Ph.D., will teach the workshop. Keel is a professor for UT Department of Family Consumer Science and Jerger is Manager of Environmental Biotechnology at Shaw Environmental, Inc. The instructors will guide students through a comprehensive look at the major indoor air pollutants including mold, household chemicals, radon, lead and combustion by-products.
