The Sevierville Police Department (SPD) responded to a reported robbery at Citizens National Bank, 801 Dolly Parton Parkway today, Thursday, December 29, 2005. SPD dispatchers received an alarm and telephone call reporting the robbery and several SPD officers and detectives responded to the scene.
According to witnesses, a white male armed with a silver handgun allegedly left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. A red dye pack was included in the money given to the suspect. The red dye pack exploded during his escape and was discarded in the parking lot next to the building.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’9” tall and weighing between 150 – 170 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black ski mask type hat and dark blue jeans.
After leaving the bank, the suspect reportedly fled on foot through the parking lot. Numerous SPD officers searched the area but the suspect was not found. The Tennessee Highway Patrol also responded to the scene.
