The Sevierville Police Department (SPD) responded to a four-vehicle accident on Winfield Dunn Parkway (Hwy. 66) this afternoon, Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at approximately 12:25PM.
According to SPD Officer Mike Israel, a 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by 78-year old Estelle Taylor of Kodak was reportedly traveling south on Hwy. 66 when she attempted to make a u-turn into the northbound lanes in front of the Fireworks Supermarket. A 2002 Honda SUV driven by 32-year old Shawnna Skiles of East Ridge, TN was traveling north on Hwy 66 and the two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes. The collision caused the SUV to roll onto it’s top and collide with a northbound 1990 Dodge pick-up truck. A southbound 2005 Jeep Liberty collided with debris from the collision that was thrown into the southbound lanes.
Skiles and three passengers in her vehicle were injured in the accident. One occupant was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) by Wings Air Ambulance. The other three occupants were transported to UTMC by the Sevier County Ambulance Service. The extent of their injuries was unknown. No other injuries were reported.
The Northview Fire Department also responded to the accident scene.
