Blount County Sheriff James Berrong said that the Sheriff’s Office has charged a 30-year-old Maryville man with two counts of rape of a child.
John William Price, III, East Lamar Alexander Parkway, Walland, is being held on bonds totaling $200,000 pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 28.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to Blount Memorial Hospital Tuesday evening to the report of the rape of a 5-year-old girl. The girl told her mother that Price, a friend of the family, had fondled her on several occasions over the past few months. During an interview with detectives, Price confessed to the allegations against him.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the case.
