Lady Vol nemesis to be at
Knoxville signing in January

Geno Auriemma, coach of the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team, will be at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, on Friday, January 6, to sign copies of his new book, Geno: In Pursuit of Perfection.
The one-hour book signing is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Hall’s South Rotunda.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase in Trophies, the gift shop at the Hall of Fame. The book is scheduled for release on January 3, 2006. Auriemma’s Connecticut team will be in Knoxville to play at the University of Tennessee on Saturday, January 7.
The book, written with Jackie MacMullan of the Boston Globe and Sports Illustrated, chronicles Auriemma’s life story, from his humble beginnings in Italy through the 2004-05 basketball campaign.
It also offers an inside look at Connecticut players, such as Diana Taurasi, Rebecca Lobo, and Nykesha Sales, as well as the rise of the UConn program during Auriemma’s 20 seasons at the helm of the Huskies’ program.
During his tenure at Connecticut, Auriemma has guided the Huskies to five NCAA national championships, including three consecutive national titles with two perfect seasons. Auriemma will be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. Induction festivities are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, in Knoxville.
The mission of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame is to “honor the past, celebrate the present, and promote the future” of women’s basketball.
