The Subway Restaurant on Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge was robbed at gunpoint on Monday, according to a press release from the Pigeon Forge Police Department.
A lone gunman entered the restaurant at approximately 9:30 p.m. when he displayed a firearm and took the money from the manager, according to the release. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
A Seymour man, 43-year-old Robert James Gianoli, was apprehended soon afterwards by the Pigeon Forge Police in the Sequoia area behind the restaurant. Gianoli gave the address of 119 Smoky Crossing, in Seymour.
Gianoli has been charged with aggravated robbery by Officer Lucas Atchley, according to the release.
