Sevierville’s 43rd Annual Christmas Parade
is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 12pm downtown Sevierville. The parade, which will serve as a kick-off to Sevier County’s Heroes’ Homecoming Celebration, has invited returned members of the 278th Howitzer Battery and their families to serve as the grand parade marshals. The parade is also a Toys For Tots Benefit. All parade participants and parade watchers are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the cause.
The Sevierville Christmas Parade is a tradition going back 43 years and features marching bands, baton twirlers, horse groups, dancers and more! This year the parade theme will be “Shake Up Winterfest” and parade organizers are hoping everyone will “shake things up” by helping to make the parade bigger and better than ever before.
“We encourage everyone to come out and watch this fun parade,” says Sevierville Chamber of Commerce marketing coordinator Amanda Maples. “With our returned heroes and all the traditional parade participants like beauty queens and Boy Scout troops this truly is a hometown parade.”
The parade route begins on Gary Wade Boulevard and then makes a left on Main Street, a left on Court Avenue, a left on Bruce Street, a right on Parkway and a left on Prince St. before returning to the Sevierville Community Center on Gary Wade Boulevard. All parade participants are asked to begin lining up at 10:30am.
