The bass player for Mountain Legacy is Robbie Helton. Known as the funny man of the group, he is a show within a show, according to his peers. He has a love and a passion for music deep down in his soul.
Originally from Cliffside, North Carolina, Robbie has been in the music business most of his life, beginning at age six. His collection of records at that age included artists such as Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley and his skill was on the guitar. Recognizing his exceptional talent, his parents sent him to study at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA at age 16. He then continued with his musical education at the Atlanta Institute of Music.
Currently living on Douglas Lake with his wife, and baby (who is already holding a guitar), he is happy to be a part of the musical entertainment group for Fiddlers’ Feast Dinner Theater. “I feel honored to be able to play with this group,” he commented. “They are a great bunch of people that really make everyone feel welcome.”
Robbie plays a wide variety of music including country, rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly. His band has also released a cd full of original material and was recently playing with the
White Oak Flatts Bluegrass band in Gatlinburg.
