Today and Saturday coaches from all across the country will be at the Music Row Hotel in Pigeon Forge to participate in a coach’s clinic sponsored by Carson Newman College and Sports Belle. This is the 16th year of the event that brings coaches from high schools and colleges as well as middle schools from near and far. Nearly 350 coaches have signed up to participate in the event. This is the clinic’s 2nd year at the Music Row Hotel.
Speakers include Tommy Bowden, Head Coach for Clemson University; Ken Sparks, Head Coach for Carson-Newman College and Chan Gailey, Head Coach from Georgia Tech.
“Not only is the Carson-Newman Coach’s Clinic educational, it may be the most enjoyable of all clinics because of the close, warm, friendly, Christian atmosphere that not only binds men in their common field, but also encourages them in their personal relationship with their wives,” stated Jim Gladden with Florida State.
“This is more than just a football clinic. It is centered upon relationships,” stated Ed Pilcher Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Georgia.
The clinic offers NFL, Major College and Prep perspectives on how to play championship caliber football. The staff combines unique perspectives from the world of football with the resort setting of the Pigeon Forge area.
Experienced coaches and motivators from the prep ranks, major colleges and the NFL will be on hand to share their accumulated knowledge and help identify winning methods players can take home to their schools.
The clinic kicks off at 4:00 p.m. today and runs through Saturday afternoon concluding with a worship fellowship on Sunday morning.
