Right now someone is watching you. If you use the internet someone knows every site you have gone to and every person you chat with. All your phone calls are being monitored and your cell phone can be tracked. If you have OnStar in your vehicle then no matter where you are satellites can find you using the Global Positioning System (GPS.) Your home is no longer safe, if even the thought that you may be involved in any terrorist activity crosses the big mans mind, your home can be searched without a warrant. If you are of Arab descent you can guarantee that you are being profiled. Welcome to the new America. Welcome to Homeland Security. The government is simply trying to keep you safe by removing your freedoms. But “freedom isn’t free” they say. There is a price that we all must pay to obtain this freedom. The word “us” is used in the American People term.
Then we have the “sensitive” people to deal with. These are the ones that petition every little thing they can because it offends them or it might be harmful to the children. These people like to tell others what they can and cannot say on television, radio or any other broadcasting medium. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) just recently was awarded the right to hand out $500,000 fines to those who air obscene or indecent material. Who makes up what is obscene or indecent? The FCC does of course. While they were passing that bill they were crossing out sections of the Bill of Rights too.
The 1st amendment now states that you have freedom of speech, when your government isn’t offended by what you say. “There hasn’t been a terrorist attack since 9/11”, you may try and say to me. Of course there haven’t been any; we’ve been taking over every third world country there is. They are too afraid of us wiping them off the map, with our nukes, that no one else can possess, but us. Osama is so far deep in a hole, or a Hollywood set, that even the termites are wondering where he is. I’m glad we went to Iraq to stop them from using those missing Weapons of Mass Destruction. I wonder how long it will be until we open up Six Flags over Baghdad. Will there be an Afghani Disney? I look forward to a huge water park in the middle of the desert.
I know I feel safer with big brother hovering over my shoulder, making sure that everything I say, type or listen to is politically correct; do you feel the same? Be careful how you answer that, you wouldn’t want to be confused for someone who is against something our President has ordered. I do believe I could write a whole other editorial on that subject.
