Walters State basketball teams played host to conference rival Motlow State Community College from Tullahoma and grabbed a pair of wins.
In the first game of the afternoon, the No. 9 ranked Lady Senators downed the Lady Bucks 66-56.
Brittany Frazier worked hard underneath the hoop and was perfect from the foul line to earn 15 points. Kathy McInnis sank three 3-pointers and ended the afternoon with 11 points.
For Motlow State, Monica Westbrook led the way with 15 points followed by Leanne Pelham who had 13 points and Amy Beavers with 10.
The Lady Senators go to 19-2 (8-0) while the Lady Bucks fall to 10-4 (6-2)
In the men’s game, the Senators make it eight wins in a row with a 79-64 victory.
Ralph Legg, Adron Marshall and Darryl Sommerset finished the game with 11 point each.
For Motlow State, Jason Langellier led the way with 12 points
The Senators improve their record to 17-4 (6-2); the Bucks fall to 11-6 (5-6).
Walters State travels to Chattanooga State for a conference game on Wednesday, Feb. 2. They will return home to host Roane State on Saturday, Feb. 5. The Lady Senators will begin at 6 p.m. and the Senators will take the court at 8 p.m. in the “Z” Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium.
