The Seymour Tennessee Chamber of Commerce hosted their second annual dinner at the Seymour First Baptist Church on Jan. 21.
The enthusiastic participants represented 30 local companies. The members enjoyed a networking experience followed by a delicious catered dinner and a recap of last year’s events. These included assisting at an auction held for the C.R.O.S.S. ministry which raised over $5,000, publicity of the individual members in the local newspapers and radio, listing of members on the Chamber web site, donation of an editable web page to the Seymour Branch of the Sevier County Public Library System and sponsoring a school essay contest.
Door prizes were donated by local businesses and almost every attendee went home with a gift, thanks to their generosity. The evening concluded with a humorous presentation by Sam Veneable, as good a speaker as he is an author. He spent some time “learnin’ us to talk right” complete with cue cards. He had the entire group laughing uncontrollably.
