crashes and knocks out station

A small plane crashed early Sunday morning into a California radio station tower, killing the husband and wife on board.
The Cessna 182 single engine plane struck the KFI radio tower, knocking it to the ground. A small fire had to be extinguished, but no other people were injured on the ground.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the pilot made no distress signals prior to crashing. The plane was about a mile from the Fullerton Airport when he hit the tower, the radio station, which is talk radio was off the air for approximately an hour.

Father burns Marines van and then
apologizes

Carlos Arrendondo was celebrating his 44th birthday at his home on August 25th, and expecting a call from his son that was in Iraq. Instead a van with Marines pulled up to his home and told him his son had been killed in Najaf.
Arrendondo got “very upset” and according to reports grabbed a propane torch and gasoline can out of his garage, ran to the van that the Marines arrived in and smashed the window, poured gasoline inside and climbed inside. Arrendondo was burned over a quarter of his body when he turned on the torch. According to officials, he claims it was an accident. The marines put out the fire on his body.
Arrendondo met privately with the Marines on Friday at a base in Florida to apologize to the Marines that came to tell him his son was dead. At the end of the meeting, he saluted the men and embraced all of them.
