By its sixth anniversary in February, Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic will have provided medical, dental, and/or counseling services to more than 6,000 Sevier County residents. Services are provided by volunteer physicians and dentists, other volunteers, and a small staff. Mountain Hope serves only those with no healthcare insurance. While fees are charged based on the family income of the patient, the Clinic could not continue to operate without the generosity of many individuals, churches, businesses, other organizations, and local government as each of the 5,500 patient visits annually costs, on an average, $35 more than what is received from the patient. Many in Sevier County cannot afford healthcare insurance–in some cases the annual premium for family coverage is $10,000–and many employers do not assist employees in paying for healthcare insurance.
If you would like to assist the Clinic in its mission of ministering to such persons in a Christian, caring atmosphere, please send tax-deductible contributions to Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic, P. O. Box 5937, Sevierville, TN 37864 or participate in the Tree of Hope program at Country Tonite Theatre, Wellington Place, or the Sevierville Forks of the River Office of Tennessee State Bank. Additional financial support will make it possible to serve even more individuals. We would be grateful for any contribution that will be used to improve the quality of life for many deserving individuals in our community.
