Blount County man pleads guilty to sex charges

A Blount County man has pled guilty to several federal sex charges, including traveling to Thailand to have sex with a teenage boy.
Kevin Bruce Cooper, 40, admitted going out of the country to have a sexual meeting with a minor and also for having over 3,000 images of child pornography in his home.
Cooper could be sentenced to 15 years in prison for the Thai case according to reports, and five years for the pornography charges.
Cooper’s case began in 1999 when Blount County authorities got reports of him raping several young males. He still faces state charges of sexual battery, statutory rape and aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Former Dixie Stampede worker sought

A former worker at Pigeon Forge’s Dixie Stampede is being sought in connection with charges that he inappropriately touched young children that work in the show at the attraction.
Armando Gonzalez, 31, was fired last week after charges were filed against him by the Pigeon Force Police Department. The charges came after Dixie Stampede did an internal investigation into the allegations from two eight-year-old girls and an 11-year-old boy that Gonzalez touched them inappropriately.
Gonzalez worked at the dinner theater for two-and-a-half years and was suspended after an incident on November 13.
