It’s safer in Knox County
Whether you live in the county or city around Knox County, you feel relatively safe, at least most of us do. Now there may be some proof to that statement.
New statistics released show that Knox County is one of the safest metropolitan areas in Tennessee for you to live.
In Knoxville murder is down 18.2 percent; rape is down 1.2 percent; robbery down 20.6 percent and aggravated assault is down 13.1 percent.
Not all the news was good, according to the report the biggest problem that Knox County has is repeat offenders. The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is directing their efforts towards those types of crimes and it seems to be working.
Knoxville is third in population in the state as far as counties go, and now is 6th in the state in crime.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department and the Knoxville Police Department both say that the cooperation between the two units is what helps the crime rate stay low.
Independence Air to release earnings
The low fare airline, Independence Air, will release its third quarter results Wednesday. The airline has been mired with rumors that it will seek Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection.
Chapter 11 won’t mean the company is going out of business; it just protects the company from creditors
The low-fare airline recently added flights to Orlando Florida and according to the airline, the flights will continue on schedule.
