Seymour Heights Christian Church at 122 Boyd’s Creek Hwy. in Seymour held their Dedication Weekend October 23, 24 to celebrate the opening of their new building.
On Saturday, the church held a Fall Family Festival with a tour of the new facility. There was an inflatable attraction for the kids, games, popcorn and hot dogs. They also held a free garage sale and car wash. “No, we aren’t taking any donations,” stated one worker. “We just want to do it.”
Later that day, members could be seen pumping gas at White Star Market for the great price of $1.70 a gallon. According to youth minister Jose Padilla “It’s a combination with Phil at White Star and us. It’s a fun way to let people know about our churches, Phil with Seymour First Baptist Church, and us with the Sevier Heights Christian Church. We want to surprise people. That’s what God does to us everyday. It’s just a blessing to be alive today and we want to continue to share that joy with other people.”
The dedication was held Sunday at 1:30 after a 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. service and a noon luncheon. Visitors got to enjoy a tour of the new facility that Seymour Heights Christian Church is very proud of.
