A call-to-action dinner to benefit the Sevier County Emergency Services Training Facility will be held at the Rocky River Grill in Sevierville on September 2 to raise money for local police, fire departments and emergency workers.
“We wanted to do something to raise money for equipment and needs for the fire departments in our area,” explained Doug Taylor, Director of Operations for the Collier Restaurant Group, on how the idea came to fruition.
“So we approached the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Fire Departments and they said what they really needed was a training facility that they’re trying to establish.
“After finding out that that this would provide training for the police, fire department, rescue squad and the emergency personel, we wanted to help all we could.”
Each of the departments will present a brief seminar explaining the need for a training facility at a pre-dinner reception. A free dinner buffet will follow featuring prime rib, blackened grouper, smothered chicken, chef vegetables, salad, rolls and brownies.
Dinner will be followed by a silent auction featuring getaways, entertainment passes and more. The will also be several drawings and door prizes.
The training facility will include classrooms for continuing education, a “Live Fire” burn tower, apron training facility, forensic training, field training, a firing range and more.
The event is an open-invitation. Attendees are asked to RSVP by calling Hayley Scott or Nicole Lane at 774-8004
