The “back to school” bus is getting ready to board for Sevier County, August 18. Many of the surrounding counties have already made the jump and have the kids firmly planted in their seats. Blount County started their program August 9 and Knox County returned August 12.
With the return to school the parents are looking forward to some days without their children, with some feeling like vacation is in the air. The traffic will increase around the schools, so everyone needs to be on their toes and keep a close eye on the pedestrians and of course our own Sevier County Sheriff’s Department as they direct the cars where they want them to go. Whether you have children in the schools or not, it’s imperative that drivers are careful and obey the speed limits in the school zones. Our future depends on it.
