Walter Donald Hoyle, 78, of Clinton passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Windwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. Preceding Walter in death was his wife, Bobbie J. Huff Hoyle; brothers, John Edwin and Hollis Reynolds. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Ben Whitted officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family had requested that memorial contributions be made to the Shiloh Cemetery. The memorials may be mailed to Sevier County Bank, c/o Ross Summit, PO Box 5288.

Carolyn Myers Deporter, 72, a life long resident of Seymour passed away Saturday August 14, 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Cleo Myers; brothers, Bruce, Elmer Lee and Sherman Myers. Funeral services were held on Monday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. Rev. Floyd Powell, Rev. Ronnie White, Rev. W.A. Galyon and Rev. Troy Cody officiating. Interment was held on Tuesday in Zion Hill Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN.

Kara Dawn Benefield, age 32, of Sevierville, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2004. Born on May 25, 1972, she was a pet groomer at Animal Ark and attended First United Methodist Church in Sevierville. Kara was loved by many and touched many hearts.  
The family received friends on Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Memorial services were held on Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Brady officiating. Maurice Elwood Ham, age 75, of Sevierville, passed away Monday, August 09, 2004. He was a devoted husband and father who always did best for his family. Mr. Ham was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville and a veteran of the United States Air Force who shared a passion for airplanes and motorcycles. Funeral services were held on Thursday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. The family received Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Family and friends had meet Saturday at Boles Funeral Home for a graveside service and interment in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines, North Carolina. David Lewis Potter, age 22, of Sevierville passed away Saturday, August 7, 2004 in Iraq. He was Active Duty Army. Funeral services were held on Saturday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. J.C. Cagle officiating. Interment was followed in Atchley’s Seymour Memory Gardens. The family received friends on Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN.
 
Karlee Beth Atkins, 20 month-old daughter of Kip and Davonne Atkins of Seymour, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at her home. Karlee suffered for several months from complications of mitochondrial disease. Karlee’s short life brought tremendous joy to many, many people. She was a special little girl that stole the hearts of everyone she had contact with. Karlee Beth will be sadly missed by all. Our hope is to someday be with her again, but until that time we have sweet memories of Karlee to treasure. Kip and Davonne would like to give special thanks to Dr. Clarisa Cuevas, to all who offered prayers in our behalf, brought food, sent cards and called on us in this time, and to Donna Atkins who loved and cared for Karlee as if she were her own. Funeral services were held on Thursday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Roy Berrier and Dr. Clarisa Cuevas officiating. Interment was held on Friday in Boyd’s Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kent Atkins, David Hurst, Chad Benton, and Doug Clifton. The family had received friends on Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour TN.

Nancy F. Loftis, age 70 of Sevierville, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004 at Parkwest Hospital. She was preceded in Death by her parents, William and Anna Bergman Flavin, and sister, Loretta Highsmith. Funeral services were held in Baltimore MD, local arrangement by Atchley Funeral Home Seymour, TN.
 
Berneice Christopher Clabo, age 76 of Sevierville, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Clabo. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. David Christopher officiating. Interment was followed in Shiloh Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville, TN.
