Traffic snarled for miles by late-afternoon fender-bender

A silver late-model Cadillac Sedan Deville collided with a tan four-door Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme at the intersection of Chapman Highway and Maples Road just past the Sevier County line in Blount County on Monday, June 21, at around 3:45 p.m.
Late-afternoon traffic was backed up for miles on the busy thoroughfare as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Cadillac, Shirley McCrosky told The Herald that she was turning northbound onto Chapman Highway when she struck the driver’s side door of the Oldsmobile, driven by Tammie Flynn, who was turning onto Maples from Chapman.
No one was reported injured in the accident. Responding to the scene were the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department, the Sevier County Ambulance Authority, and the Blount County Sheriff’s Department.
