As a way of supporting local schools, employees from Citizen’s National Bank will spend several days this spring cooking hamburgers and hotdogs for area youth taking part in school field day activities.
The first such event this year was Wednesday at Northview Optimist Park for the fifth and sixth graders of Northview Middle School. Members of the CNB staff will also help with such events for Sevierville Primary, Sevierville Intermediate and the Trula Lawson Learning Center.
“This is our third year of doing this,” said CNB President David C. Verble while flipping hamburgers on the grill Wednesday. “This is our way of helping the schools and showing support.”
Northview Principal Jim Davis admires the way the bank takes the time to lend a hand and helps add to the day’s festivities for the students.
“It’s a wonderful thing for them to come out,” said Davis. “This is my third year as principal and they’ve been here every year since I’ve been here.”
Davis went on to explain that CNB is helping as part of the Adopt-A-School program and have assisted the school in other areas as well.
“They are one of our partners with Adopt-A-School,” he stated.
