Anna Porter Public sponsors
competition for budding authors

Anna Porter Public Library Book Club is currently sponsoring a contest to locate nascent writers from the Sevier County area.
The contest is open exclusively to Sevier County residents, and will remain open until September 30.
Winners in the contest will be announced in November.
Anyone wishing to submit an entry should make sure that it is typewritten (or word processed) and submitted anonymously.

All entries must be accompanied by a sealed envelope; on the outside of the envelope the writer must choose a nom de plume by which he or she will be identified. The sealed envelope must contain the writer’s real name, address, and telephone number. The sealed envelope will not be opened until the winners are selected.
Entries must be original work in either fiction or non-fiction. Entries must be declared as either fiction or non-fiction. Only one entry in each category per person is permitted.
No submission should exceed 10,000 words.
There will be first, second and third prizes for each of the two categories, 6 prizes in all: $500, first; $250, second; $100 third. Copies of the six winners will be available for reading by the public after winners are announced.
The Book Club will select a panel of three judges to select winners in each of the two categories. All decisions by the Book Club and the panel of judges will be final.
