The 2003 Campaign Awards luncheon for United Way of Sevier County was held March 24th at the Music Road Hotel Convention Center to honor those who have worked so hard throughout the campaign.
Honorary Chairman for 2004, former UT and NFL football star Scott Galyon, spoke about the opportunity to serve as this year’s chairman. “I’m excited about being back home and being able to be a part of this year’s event.” The 2003 honorary Chairman Louise Mandrell told Galyon, “I really recommend this job!” Mandrell did a wonderful job this past year helping to promote and raise funds for the United Way of Sevier County.
Master of Ceremonies Dave Gorden kept the crowd on their toes with his flamboyant speaking voice as he read the names of individuals and businesses that helped United Way of Sevier County surpass their goal of $600,000 for a grand total of over $852,000.
Campaign Chairs Earl and Margit Worsham will again take the helm for 2004 as they reach for a new goal of $1 million.
Special awards were presented including one to Louise Mandrell for all her work throughout the year.
After the introductions of 2003 Board Chairman Jim Galbraith, 2003 Honorary Chairman Louise Mandrell and 2003 Campaign Chairman Margit Worsham, the presentation of awards began by category including; Corporate Meeting Sponsors, In Kind Contributors, 2003 Campaign Cabinet, Loaned Executives, Allocations Teams, Special Events, Corporate Leaders, Employee Campaign Leaders, and Individual Leadership Givers.
Executive Director Lisa Butler said, “The support we received from everyone has made my job even more enjoyable. We look forward to a great year in 2004.”
