The 2004 edition of the Sevier County Homebuilders Association’s annual Expo raised the roof of the Sevierville Community Center on Saturday, February 21, with a plethora of exhibitors showing their wares to prospective homeowners, contractors, and industry experts.
Event Coordinator Sandy Smith was proud to take the expo into its sixteenth year. “Every year is a whole new show,” she exclaimed. “Even though many of our exhibitors have been with us since the first show, we also have many who are appearing here for the first time.”
Exhibitors did brisk business at the show. “We’ve already signed up three projects for new houses and three more remodeling projects,” said Roy Couch, President of Tennessee American Construction.
“We wanted to be here to make sure that folks were aware of our latest products and the quality and versatility they represent,” said Dennie Underwood, with Blalock Ready Mix, referring to their array of innovative building materials.
“It’s a great place to establish new relationships and new accounts,” said Bonnie Johnson, staffing the booth for Tennessee State Bank.
After five years at the show, Mike St. John with Marvin Concepts Windows and Doors is happy to have a prime spot near the entrance and on an end-cap.
“You have to pay your dues,” St. John said. “We sure don’t want to miss a year.”
Among the other exhibitors at the show were Mountain National Bank, Sevier County Electric, Arrow Exterminators, Sunset Cottages, ASAP Secturity, Carolina Building Services, and Blue Lodge Log Homes.
In addition to the yearly expo, the Homebuilder’s Association also sponsors a golf tournament twice yearly, as well as a lobster-fest.
“You’d be amazed at what all we’re involved in,” Sandy Smith said. “We want this to be the best show possible.”
