Welcome to this weeks Supermom column. My hope is that you have enjoyed and benefited from the stories you have read over the past few weeks. This will be the last column in this series. My goal is to “inspire the woman within” and to offer you guidance and suggestions on regaining a focus or purpose in your lives. If we are to break out of the day to day routine that leaves little, if any time for us, then it is up to us to take the appropriate steps.
We are all busy, overworked, and overstressed and quite often “get down” about our lifestyles. The changes need to come from within us or we will continue to live the same lifestyle tomorrow that we have lived today. Although we cannot change the “busyness” of our days, we can change our outlook and attitude toward them. It is only then that we will allow ourselves to reach our full potential while still being a good mom, wife, coworker, etc.
As for me, much of my strength comes from a firm belief in the Lord. Many times I have questioned my life and all the struggles I have to deal with. It is only when I “let go and let God” that answers appear. Without this belief, I question whether I could continue pushing forward and making progress in the right direction. My faith in a better future and a higher purpose gives me the courage to continue the battle. I hope that all of you who are “only existing” find your higher power and higher purpose. Wonderful things can happen when you start to change your environment and your world.
Our true meaning is not in our existence, but in how we improve our world. It is our responsibility to positively influence the lives of others. When this becomes our focus, our lives will change; opportunities will appear. We become a better person and gain tremendous strength to reach our goals. It is in the giving, not the taking that we become in control of our futures.
My next step is to publish a weekly Super-mom Advice Column where you can write in with your questions, concerns, frustrations and ideas. Many times we get “stuck” in situations and just need someone who understands our problems to listen and guide us to the next step. To “inspire the woman within” is the focus of this column. Please contact the Herald News-papers if you would benefit from this column. I’ve been down the same paths as many of you and can relate to your frustrations and concerns on a very personal manner. Together, we can take the steps necessary to improve our futures and therefore improve the lives of those we touch.
Wisdom is knowing we have choices. Deter-mination is taking action on those choices. Self-confidence is knowing that regardless of the outcome, we chose to choose. The only person in charge of my life is me and the only one responsible for its outcome is me. I am my greatest asset. Choose to dwell in the opportunities of the day, instead of the challenges of yesterday. Only then can we understand how to live.
You should never underestimate yourself! Many people put themselves down, pointing to their inabilities, inadequacies, and weaknesses. It’s true especially for women. If this sounds familiar, know that it’s also true that people underestimate their capabilities, competence, capacity and potential.
Take a closer look at yourself; you probably have huge amounts of talent and skill screaming to be seen and heard. Instead of thinking in terms of what you “can’t” do, think in terms of what you “can” do. Let your talents shine, you have the ability, you’re perfectly adequate and you’re definitely strong because you’re you – you’re a woman!
“Nothing can stop the woman with the right mental attitude from achieving her goals. Nothing on earth can help the woman with the wrong mental attitude.” Is your attitude in line with your goals? Do you have goals? We can work together to achieve your dreams, your wants, your goals. It is within you! Please contact the Herald Newspapers to request this column.
May we journey together to our future; to our success! God Bless.
