Nov. 5 – Just after 10 p.m. on October 31, William Jordan Canterbury, a student Pigeon Forge High School, was shot and killed while visiting the home of another 14-year-old boy.
While Canterbury was visiting in the home, the other 14-year-old, whose name has not been released, obtained a 20-gauge shotgun, loaded the weapon, and pointed the weapon at Canterbury. The 14-year-old said he was trying to “Freak him out.”
The weapon discharged, striking Canterbury in the chest.
Canterbury was pronounced dead at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center. The 14-year-old has been charged with Reckless Homicide and a hearing will be held in Juvenile Court.
