Sept. 3 – Blalock Construction, winners of the $1.4 million bid to widen Chapman Highway between the intersection of Highways 411 and 441 and the small footbridge beyond Foothills Estates, have begun making inroads in the task of rerouting utilities lines alongside the heavily traveled road.
The storm water permit from the Department of Environment and Conservation are now in, allowing the construction’s first phase to begin. The filling in of low spots and grading of hilly areas has already started, and piping has been laid along the right-of-way to indicate the new paths the utilities lines will take.
